FAQs

What I should expect for my first appointment?

All new patients will be scheduled for an initial evaluation. This appointment is an initial determination session to get a comprehensive understanding and in-depth history of the client.

How long does therapy last? What determines the length of therapy?

For some individuals, treatment lasts a long time. Others may respond with a short-term intervention or a few sessions.  The length of time will depend on several factors including: the severity symptoms, current stressors, goals, level of support from outside sources such as family or peers etc.  Together you and your therapist will work together to develop cohesive treatment plan.

What type of methods or interventions does your practice use?

We are not limited to just one method or approach. We tailor our therapy to meet the needs of each client and draw from various theoretical models including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies (CBT). Trauma Focused (CBT), Psychodynamic, Relational, Solution-Focused,  Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Mentalization-Based Therapy (MBT)
